What kind of timber do you use?
We use premium Kiln-Dried (KD) Hardwood, specifically Victorian Ash, for the main frame of our timber stacker windows due to its strength, stability, and beautiful grain. For the sill, we exclusively use Merbau for its exceptional water and rot resistance, ensuring maximum durability.
Are timber stacker windows easy to operate?
Absolutely. Despite the potential size and weight of the panels, our Timber Stacker Windows are engineered with high-quality, heavy-duty rollers. This ensures all sliding panels glide smoothly and effortlessly along the track.
How are they different from standard sliding windows?
A standard sliding window typically has one sliding panel and one fixed panel, allowing you to open up to 50% of the total space. Timber Stacker Windows have two or more sliding panels that stack behind a single fixed panel, allowing you to open up two-thirds (or more) of the total space, creating a much wider and more impressive opening.
Can they be fitted with fly screens?
Yes. Because all the panels slide within the frame, Timber Stacker Windows are perfectly suited for fitting external fly screens across the entire opening, allowing you to enjoy maximum airflow without insects.
